Having a self care checklist will help you stay on track with your self-care. When it comes to taking care of yourself, this is a must-do. You can’t take care of the others in your life if you aren’t taking care of yourself. I know some people think they don’t have time for self-care, but I would argue you can’t afford not to spend the time taking care of yourself first.

Self-Care Favorites
There are lots of things you can do that can be considered self-care. The first one that comes to mind for me is meditating. I wrote about the benefits of meditation here.
The second thing that comes to mind is writing in a journal daily. There are a couple of different journaling articles on this site. Here are journaling ideas to help get you started with your journaling practice. You can download a free printable gratitude and writing journal there too.
Writing down three things that you are grateful for each day is a great way to start your day and get you into the right mindset.
Another journaling practice I like to do each day is to journal for motivation. You can get many morning journal prompts to help make this easy here.
Meditation and journaling, and getting regular exercise in the form of daily walks outside are my favorite self-care ideas to do each day.
There are tons of other self-care ideas, such as taking a bubble bath, making sure you get enough sleep, taking a break from social media, eating a balanced diet, spending time with your best friend, trying new recipes, trying a new workout, having alone time, and regular visits with family and friends.
Incidentally, making sure you get plenty of hours of sleep each night is one small thing you can do for yourself that will have a big impact. You can read some tips for how to get a good night of sleep here.
The important part of self-care is that you do something for yourself. Take care of yourself and your individual health first so you can take care of those around you.
Establish a Daily Routine
Establish a daily routine of self-care that you do every day. To help you, there is a self-care routine checklist that you can download and make sure you are completing all of the items on your self-care checklist.
The checklist contains self-care activities to do each day for both your mental health and physical health. Practice your self-care routine regularly, and you will develop great self-care habits.
