One of my favorite things to do for Valentine’s Day each year is to make a special Valentine-themed breakfast for my family. There are lots of great Valentine’s Day breakfast ideas for the whole family out there. I am going to give you thirteen of my favorites today. Some of these ideas are super easy to make, and some take a little extra time. Check them out below and pick your favorites to make for your family this Valentine’s Day.

1. Heart-Shaped Pancakes
This is probably one of the most common Valentine-themed breakfast ideas. There are a couple of ways to make heart-shaped pancakes. You can either use a heart-shaped metal cookie cutter and pour your pancake batter into the cookie cutter on your griddle and make them that way. Or, you can make regular pancakes then cut them into a heart shape. Either way works great, and your family will love them. You can even use a tiny bit of food coloring to make the pancakes pink if you want. Serve them with maple syrup, and you have the perfect Valentine’s Day breakfast for kids and adults.

2. A Fresh Fruit Plate Arranged Into a Heart Design
This is super simple and a healthy Valentine’s breakfast too. Take some fresh fruit and arrange it on a plate into a heart shape. The one shown uses strawberries and blueberries, but you could do this with just about any type of fruit that is cut up. Just use whatever kind of fruits your family likes best.

3. Egg Heart with Bacon Arrow
Who doesn’t love eggs and bacon? If your family does, try making the eggs into a heart shape and put them on top of a strip of bacon in an arrow shape. This is an adorable way to present a very traditional breakfast for Valentine’s Day. Your family will definitely be impressed. You can use a metal cookie cutter and place it on a griddle and crack the egg into it. If you don’t want to make the egg into a heart shape, you can opt to cut the toast into a heart shape instead – or do both!

4. Mini Ladybug (Lovebug) Breakfast Sandwiches with Cheese
Next up, if you want to spend a little more time on your Valentine’s Day breakfast masterpiece, you can try your hand at these Mini Ladybug sandwiches with cheese. These would also be an excellent idea for lunch, but you could make them for breakfast and call them breakfast sandwiches (see how I did that)? No matter which meal on Valentine’s Day you decide to make these cute little bugs, they are sure to delight the kids who receive them!

5. Love Bird Pancakes
If you don’t want to make your pancakes into the shape of a heart, but want to do something a little more elaborate, try making them into these singing birds. Add the strawberries as wings and cut some hearts out of the strawberries (which is easy to do since strawberries are naturally that shape.) Cut some cheese for the feet and beaks, and you can use chocolate chips for the eyes. There you have it, a couple of love birds pancakes that will amaze your kids in no time.

6. Eggs in a Hole with a Heart-Shaped Hole
Use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter and cut a hole in a piece of bread. You can either crack an egg in the hole or scramble an egg and pour the egg into the hole. Once it has cooked a bit, flip it over and cook the other side. Make several, and now you will have a Valentine-themed breakfast to serve your whole family.

7. Pink and Red Donuts
You can make homemade pink (strawberry) or red (red velvet) donuts if you want, or you can cheat a little and buy them. Donut stores and bakeries even sell heart-shaped donuts for Valentine’s Day, which is a bonus.

8. Hot Cocoa with Pink and White Marshmallows
You can make whatever breakfast you want, and if you serve it with some hot cocoa with pink and white marshmallows, it is sure to be a hit with your kids. The food can be ordinary and unthemed as long as you serve it along with this special treat for Valentine’s Day.

9. Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Who wouldn’t love eating these chocolate-covered Valentine’s Day themed strawberries? If you don’t want to elaborate or spend too much time, just plain chocolate-covered strawberries will do. They, by their very nature, pair perfectly with Valentine’s Day. Strawberries are fruit! You can have them for breakfast. Let your kids decorate them with some candy eyes or icing.

10. Love Birds Bread and Fruit
Here is another variation of love birds themed Valentine breakfast idea. You can cut the bread into the bird’s shape and add the strawberries for wings and blueberries for the eyes. Add a little piece of strawberry for the beaks, and you have created the love birds. You can even toast the bread a little on each side if you want.

11. Put a Valentine Note on a Cup of Coffee or Juice
This Is a cute idea to start the day off special for your significant other. You can add a Happy Valentine’s note to their morning coffee and attach it with a clothespin. Make a traditional breakfast such as french toast and deliver them as breakfast in bed for the special day. You can do this with glasses of juice or milk for the kids too!

12. Peanut Butter Toast with Heart Shaped Jelly
Make some peanut butter toast and put the jelly on top of the peanut butter in the shape of a heart. Use strawberry or raspberry jelly of course (something red). Be very careful as you put the jelly heart on top, or you can use a heart-shaped cookie cutter and put in on top to help guide you to make the heart shape.

13. Happy Face on a Pancake
Last but not least of the Valentine’s Day breakfast ideas, you can add this happy face to a pancake. Add sliced bananas and chocolate chips for the eyes and chocolate chips for the nose and the mouth. Then slice some strawberries and place them all around the pancake. This is sure to brighten anyone’s day when they see this special treat for breakfast.
